Next to horse-related activities, the committees of Hippeia also organise a lot of association activities. If you don’t necessarily feel like riding horses but do want some company, then Hippeia is your place to be! Aside from the annual or monthly activities like the Christmasdinner and the daymeal, our members often participate in new activities. Hippeians have gone sailing and shown their wisdom at a pubquiz. Below you’ll find a selection of student-related activities that often come around during the year.
Drinks at the bar
Every first Thursday of the month there’s drinks at the bar at De Stadsgenoot which lies in the middle of Utrecht. Hippeians come together with the pleasure of having a glass of beer, wine or just a soft drink. Sometimes these drinks will be combined with another activity by going barbecueing, lasergaming or iceskating beforehand.
Every third Wednesday of the month the barcommittee wil prepare a delicious meal. All Hippeians will gather in the canteen of the stables to enjoy the culinary treasures together.
Every year just before Christmas the eventscommittee organizes the Christmasdinner. The location changes everytime but it’s always a great succes. Whether Hippeians go to a sushi restaurant, eat tapas or enjoy a four-course menu, everyone goes home with a smile on their face and a belly full of food.
Friends- en familyday
Not only Hippeians but also their friend and family deserve some attention! Every year an evening is organised where friends and family get the chance to see what a Hippeia evening looks like and they can also participate in an activity. Once we watched the World Championships on a big screen and we’ve given friends and families the oppertunity to ride a horse themselves.
Sinterklaas is a Dutch tradition that every international student has to try for themselves. Around December 5th Hippeians gather around to play a game. The goal of this game is to seize as many presents as they can. However, throughout the game you’ll get the possibility to steal presents from others and risk losing your own.
